Robertson v. Whitestone Home Furnishings, LLC

United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri Southern Division
Case No. 6:23-CV-031854
If You Live in Missouri and Made A Purchase On Saatva.com Between June 21, 2018, and June 18, 2024 You Could Get Money From a Settlement.

There is a settlement in a class action lawsuit that claims Saatva charged higher sales tax to some Missouri consumers who made purchases online at Saatva.com (see Question 2). Saatva denies it did anything wrong.

Automatic refunds will be provided to eligible consumers. Generally, you are included if: (1) you made at least one purchase of tangible physical property from Saatva through Saatva’s website, www.saatva.com; (2) you completed your purchase between June 21, 2018, and June 18, 2024; (3) the product was shipped by or for Saatva from a location outside of Missouri; (4) your delivery address was located within Missouri; and (5) a higher tax was charged on the product than the rate agreed to under the Settlement.

A Settlement Fund will pay (1) money to eligible Class Members; (2) the costs of notice and administration; (3) a service award to the class representative; and (4) attorneys’ fees, costs, and expenses (see Question 8).

Your legal rights are affected whether you act or not. Read the Notice and this website carefully because it explains decisions you must make and actions you must take now.

Your Legal Rights and Options

Exclude Yourself

Get no money from the Settlement. This is the only choice that allows you ever be part of any other lawsuit against Saatva about the claims in this case (see Question 15).

Object

Write to the Court about why you don’t like the Settlement (see Question 20).

Go To A Hearing

Ask to speak in Court about the fairness of the Settlement (see Question 25)

Do Nothing

If you are included, get an automatic payment. Give up your rights to sue Saatva about the claims in this lawsuit.

These rights and options—and the deadlines to exercise them—are explained in the Notice and FAQs page.

The Court in charge of this case still has to decide whether to approve the Settlement. Payments will be made to those who qualify if the Court approves the Settlement and after any appeals are resolved. Please be patient.
